Elegant Designs in an Iconic Malibu Destination
For our first Fall 2021 photoshoot, Vice President of Brand Creative Delaney Tabron knew she needed a location that was quintessentially Californian. After a Pre-Fall shoot on the rooftops of NYC, Delaney wanted to showcase BCBGMAXAZRIA’s versatility and style in a totally different context. As a New Zealand transplant, Delaney was looking for a destination that would embody the energy of her Los Angeles home: architectural but organic, earthy but modern, transient but permanent. The Wright Ranch in Malibu was the perfect counterbalance to NYC’s hard lines and geometric skyline.
The brainchild of architect Eric Lloyd Wright (grandson to famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright), construction on the Wright Ranch began around 1988 and has never been finished. But even in its incomplete form, the ranch is a masterpiece of organic architecture; its sand-colored walls seem to grow directly out of the surrounding cliffs; its oversized windows command sweeping views of the ocean.
Into this epic scene walked Kazakh model Bayana Bokisheva of Bounty Models, outfitted in of-the-moment suits, dresses and gowns. With her miles of hair blowing in the wind, and the Wright Ranch framing the sky behind her, she was the picture of high fashion California chic, just as Delaney had envisioned.
